Paul Downey will be the speaker. Members, subscribers and non-members are all welcome to attend AABR events. . The WEEDS C.R.C. may be no more but it's website will be available for 2 years at www.weedscrc.org.au. It has a wide range of great resources such as a series of management guides for environmental weedsincluding the most recent on Periwinkle (Vinca major). They are available at www.weedscrc.org.au/publications/weed_man_guides.html#biodiversity There is also a list of the 26,242 introduced plant species in Australia, including the 2,739 that have naturalised and another 5,907 species present in Australia which have weed histories elsewhere in the world. Plus 606 natives (a lot of Wattles) that are known to have naturalised outside their native range within Australia! AABR has produced a report with WWF-Australia on the effect of garden plant escapes on bushland in Eastern Australia. Click here to download the Report. The report is based on information from those working in remnant natural areas. Many respondents are AABR members. Bush Regenerators' pay and working conditions and other pressing issues facing the Bush Regen industry.
