Watch this section for updates to the site EVENTS The next AABR walk is on August 1st. The walk will be through Cumberland Plain woodland at Lansdowne, led by Alan Fairley. The AABR AGM will be held in October. The speaker will be Arthur White talking about maintaining and creating frog habitat. See the What's On for all the details. The Restoring Biodiversity Industry Association will hold its next events on July 17th and September 11th. The Society for Ecological Restoration International (SERI) is holding its annual world conference at Perth, Western Australia on 23 -27 August 2009. The Australian Museum in Sydney has free entry and tours through the backrooms and corridors on Sunday 5th July. You can check them out at Hornsby Council have just released the second edition of their Natives and Weeds Look-alikes booklet. The booklet can be found at www.hornsby.nsw.gov.au/environment/index.cfm?NavigationID=1430 The WEEDS C.R.C. may be no more but its website is still available at www.weedscrc.org.au. It has a wide range of great resources such as a series of management guides for environmental weeds. They are available at www.weedscrc.org.au/publications/weed_man_guides.html. AABR has produced a report with WWF-Australia on the effect of garden plant escapes on bushland in Eastern Australia. Click here to download the Report (1.2MB PDF). The report is based on information from those working in remnant natural areas. Many respondents are AABR members. Bush Regenerators' pay and working conditions and other pressing issues facing the Bush Regen industry. The Volunteer Coordinators Network Group is for members of the Volunteer Coordinators Network or those who'd like to join.
