AABRFest has become one of those rare things.
A few days where workshops spark ideas, art and music lift tired bones, conversations wander, and camaraderie does the quiet work of keeping us connected.

We’ve done it twice now.
Both festivals were big, joyful, muddy, inspiring successes. People still talk about them.

Now we’re looking ahead to AABRFest 2026, timed to celebrate AABR’s 40th year. And the good news is this:
📍 The site is already booked for August at Johns River.

What we need now is the most important ingredient.
People.

We’re calling an online meeting on Wednesday 25 February, 6–7 pm, to bring together an organising committee. Volunteers with capacity. Volunteers with enthusiasm. Volunteers who care about keeping that AABRFest feeling alive.

You don’t need to know how to run a festival.
There’s experience to draw on. Notes, budgets, contacts and lessons learned.
There’s support from AABR.
What we need is a team willing to hold the reins and share the load.

If you’ve ever come home from AABRFest tired but buzzing.
If you’ve thought “this matters”.
If you want to help mark 40 years of bush regeneration community in a way that feels generous and grounded.

Please come along.

We also need to be honest.
If we don’t form an organising team at this meeting, AABRFest will have to wait another year.

So consider this a gentle nudge. Or a friendly prod.
Put the kettle on. Log in. Bring your ideas and your questions.

Let’s see what can grow when a few people step forward together.
