Working Groups

AABR’s strength is in its members and their experience and the Board is currently establishing multiple Working Groups of experts and elected Sub-committees to progress various projects. Members are welcome to contribute their expertise to these bush-regen brains trusts. Contact Suzanne for more information on meeting times and projects –  admin@aabr.org.au

ACCREDITATION SUBCOMMITTEE

This elected group oversees AABR’s accreditation program. In 2020-21 a suite of new assessors was inducted from four states to support the processing of applications and a procedural review was also undertaken.

 

AABR VIC (SUBCOMMITTEE)

The Victorian branch of AABR has been progressing establishing AABR’s accreditation program for bush regeneration practitioners and is hosting local events and producing educational materials. CHEMICALS IN THE MANAGEMENT OF BIODIVERSITY (CIMB) WORKING GROUP

The group meets online, on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, 7:30-8:30pm.

This working group to explore the use/non-use of glyphosate and other chemicals within the bush regen sector. 

 

EDUCATION & TRAINING WORKING GROUP

This working group will be advocating for appropriate training for bush regenerators and actively developing educational peer reviewed resources to support the implementation of the Conservation & Ecosystem Management qualification.

 

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS WORKING GROUP

This group aims to expand AABR’s presence within the restoration sector across multiple social media platforms.

 

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS WORKING GROUP

This group will reviewing AABR’s fee structure, membership types and membership benefits.

 

POLICIES & PROCEDURES WORKING GROUP

As AABR moves towards an expanded national structure a strong foundation will be put in place in overarching policies and procedures to ensure AABR remains a coherent and efficient entity, this group will progress the process.

 

WALKS AND TALKS WORKING GROUP

This group will oversee the events program that provides opportunities to show case the amazing on-ground projects of AABR members.

 

FUNDRAISING WORKING GROUP

AABR is progressing Deductible Gift Recipient status. This working group will be ready to launch a campaign when DGR status is achieved.

 

CONTRACTORS INDUSTRY WORKING GROUP

This group of bush regen professionals will be mapping out where the industry is going, where we want it to be and how to prioritise getting there.
