Project Description

Sydney can be celebrated for its bushland – but to keep it requires ongoing conservation management assisted by (not replaced by) restoration. Considering the National Restoration Standards, Tein asks do we have the wherewithal to plan and implement the necessary restoration?

Original presentation title: Greater Sydney or Lesser Sydney? Putting restoration principles and standards into practice. Tein has been involved in the philosophy, ecology and practice of ecological restoration for over 35 years as a bush regenerator, trainer, restoration planner and journal editor.

Tein is President of AABR and a board member of the Society for Ecological Restoration Australasia (SERA). Tein co-authored the National Restoration Standards for the Practice of Ecological Restoration in Australia, and, more recently, its international adaptation, the second edition of which is hot off the press.
