How can we help the bush to recover after fire? The native plants usually have the capacity to regenerate (unless the damage is particularly severe), but where weeds are involved, they probably need assistance. With the right approach, we can make a big difference. Here is an intro to post fire weed control, with some general tips. This is the first in what we plan to be a series on post-fire weeding. First Aid for Burned Bushland (FABB) Resources- AABR is progressively developing targeted online materials to assist landholders undertake ecological weed management after the extensive wildfires of spring-summer 2019-20 – as well as to link volunteers to sites in need of help. These resources include information sheets, a process to volunteer to assist in the post-fire recovery and links to relevant resources.
